The Role

We re seeking a System Administrator who keeps the lights on and the servers humming for hundreds of users across on-prem, cloud, and hybrid environments. You ll manage Windows/Linux fleets, virtualization, backups, identity, and automation, ensuring 99.99% uptime, rapid recovery, and zero surprises. If you live in PowerShell, love patching at 2 a.m., and treat root access like a superpower, this is your domain.


What You ll Do

Core Responsibilities

  • Deploy and maintain physical/virtual servers (Windows Server, RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS).
  • Manage Active Directory / Entra ID: GPOs, OU design, user provisioning, MFA, RBAC.
  • Own virtualization: VMware vSphere/ESXi, Hyper-V, or Proxmox clusters, vMotion, HA/DRS.
  • Automate everything: PowerShell, Bash, Ansible, Python scripts for config, patching, monitoring.
  • Handle backup & DR: Veeam, Rubrik, ZFS snapshots, offsite replication, RTO/RPO testing.
  • Monitor & alert: PRTG, Zabbix, Nagios, Windows Event Logs, syslog, Grafana dashboards.
  • Secure the stack: CIS benchmarks, STIGs, patch management (WSUS, Landscape), firewall rules.
  • Support end-users: Tier 2/3 tickets, imaging, SCCM/Intune, printer queues, VPN.
  • Document like it s audited: Runbooks, asset inventory, change logs, network diagrams.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and incident response.

What You Bring

Must-Have

  • 4+ years in systems administration (Windows + Linux).
  • Deep Windows Server: 2016 2022, AD DS, DNS, DHCP, DFS, RDS, IIS.
  • Linux fluency: RHEL/Ubuntu, SSH, systemd, LVM, iptables/nftables.
  • Virtualization expertise: VMware vSphere (vCenter, ESXi) or Hyper-V.
  • Scripting: PowerShell (modules, DSC) + Bash/Python.
  • Networking basics: VLANs, subnetting, TCP/UDP, packet traces.
  • Backup & recovery: Hands-on restore testing experience.
  • ITIL-minded: Change management, incident logging, root cause reports.

Nice-to-Have

  • Cloud admin: AWS EC2, Azure VMs, Google Cloud Platform Compute.
  • Containers: Docker, Podman, basic Kubernetes admin.
  • Configuration management: Ansible, Puppet, or SaltStack.
  • Monitoring: Prometheus, ELK/EFK, Telegraf.
  • Certifications: MCSE, RHCSA, VCP-DCV, CompTIA Server+.
  • Experience in regulated environments (PCI, HIPAA, SOX).
