Duties:
Job Summary: The Telecom/Network Engineer will design, configure, manage, troubleshoot, support and implement the Telecom/Network Infrastructure. Will also perform limited project management with some coordination of efforts by various support staff. Communicates project status to project proponents.
Job Responsibilities:
- Under general supervision, participates in decisions on technical direction, architecture design, and product selection for the enterprise telecom/data network.
- Assists with the deployment of telecom/network technology.
- Exercises independent judgment.
- Under general direction works on complex technical issues.
- Provides input to short and long-term section strategy and budget planning.
- May be required to perform some of the duties of Telecom/Network Specialist.
- Receptive to new ideas and to learning new technologies.
- Plans and leads small projects and performs project management coordinating the efforts of internal and external staff with the customer and business needs.
- On occasion oversees projects and tasks assigned to project team members and may be asked to provide input to their evaluations.
- Occasionally works under stressful conditions, participating in implementations and troubleshooting efforts that may have significant patient care and/or financial impact to the organization.
- May be asked to represent Telecommunications and Networks to committees at client.

- Expert knowledge of telecom/network concepts and 7-layer OSI model is required.
- Knowledge of basic telecom/network management and monitoring tools.
- Basic understanding of desktop and server operating systems is desirable.
- Must be able to work with minimum direction and able to work effectively in a team environment.
- Must be customer focused and possess excellent communications and interpersonal skills to interact with a variety of personnel at various levels within and outside the institution.
- Good organizational and time management skills are required to handle the workload and track the various projects going on simultaneously.
- Solid analytical skills are also a necessity.
Education: Required Education:
-Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline with a minimum of two (2) years of professional technical work experience.
OR
-Associate's degree with a minimum of four (4) years of professional technical work experience.
OR
-Minimum of (6) years professional technical work experience required for individuals without a degree.
Schedule Notes:
Required:
- Working in multiple network infrastructure disciplines including routing, switching, and wireless.
- Demonstrates knowledge and proficiency with basic network and network security monitoring/management tools.
Preferred:
- Utilizes, operates and maintains network security infrastructure and services involving network access control, network segmentation (TrustSec, ISE), VPN, secure web browsing, internet caching and DNS security devices to ensure data integrity and network security is maintained.
- Provides assistance and may be asked to take a network leadership role with network troubleshooting and remediation of security related incidents or network security investigations in coordination with the Help Desk, ITOC and SOC.
- Familiar with software defined networking tools including, but not limited to, firewalls, WAN/LAN, SASE, and Cloud networking.
- Familiar with scripting and automation tools such as Splunk, Ansible, Python, and .Net.
- Knowledge of standard project methodology (Agile and/or Waterfall) processes, tools and terminologies.

Pay rate: $60/hr on W2.
