Job Description

Join Olsson's Federal Engineering and Design Team as a Project Mechanical Engineer, where you'll lead mechanical design efforts for federal infrastructure projects including VA and medical facilities, DoD facilities, and other government buildings. You'll be part of a collaborative team delivering high-quality, efficient, and compliant mechanical systems that support critical federal missions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical design for federal projects, including HVAC, plumbing, and medical gas systems for healthcare and institutional facilities.
  • Apply knowledge of VA design standards, UFC, and IBC codes to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Prepare detailed engineering documents, cost estimates, and design calculations.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate mechanical systems with architectural and structural components.
  • Support proposal development and participate in federal RFP responses.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • PE license required.
  • 6+ years of experience in mechanical design, with strong preference for VA or healthcare facility experience.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and HVAC design software.
  • Familiarity with VA design standards and federal project delivery processes.
  • Strong communication and project coordination skills.
