Goldman Sachs Asset Management manages approximately $3.2 trillion across a variety of asset classes and mandates including institutional portfolios, high net worth accounts and mutual funds, using sophisticated investment models that have been developed in an innovative research environment. Current investment solutions span all geographies and include actively managed quantitative and fundamental strategies across all asset classes, fund and index replication, global tactical asset allocation, tax advantaged offerings, income based strategies, factor based investing, and ESG oriented portfolios - with more strategies under development. Quantitative Investment Strategies or QIS, manages over $100 billion across a variety of mandates including institutional portfolios and funds. We employ a mix of sophisticated quantitative models, that have been developed in an innovative research environment to help our clients achieve better returns. ROLE DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a Software Engineer to join our team as we build innovative solutions for the QIS business. In this role, you will be part of a highly motivated team designing and developing high performance, scalable solutions for our quant investment business. Work closely with quant researchers, data scientists and portfolio managers in a dynamic and data-driven environment to build our next generation portfolio construction and trading platforms.

Master's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems or a related field and 2 years of demonstrated experience in job offered or a related software engineering role.

Job Duties:
- Software Engineering with Goldman Sachs
- Work in all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) to meet internal and regulatory requirements.
- Work with internal teams to develop solution designs
- Implement high-quality, scalable and thoughtful technology solutions leveraging both internal and open-source services
- Work with internal teams to implement and maintain robust testing suites to enable safe, complete, and scalable solutions across our global business lines
- Ensure and monitor the health of the key flow and reporting components
- Perform daily support and maintenance of business processes and activities
- Assist in requirements gathering, user story refinement
- Build strong relationships with business partners and understand their business problems to come up with technical solutions

Special Skills Required to Perform the Job:
- Full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, documentation, deployment, and production support.
- Building scalable and robust multi-threaded and multi-process service-oriented C++ or Java enterprise applications within Unix or Windows environment.
- Programming technologies including Java/C++, Spring, Hibernate, RabbitMQ, or Kafka.
- Relational database management system (RDBMS) such as Sybase or Oracle.
- Micro-services architecture design and development including REST, Java, Spring, or other back-end technologies.
- Database query languages, including SQL or NoSQL technologies such as MongoDB.
- Strong Analytical and problem-solving skills as well as high degree attention to details
- Strong communication skills to communicate technical design and requirements.
- Self-motivating with strong sense of ownership.
- Experience in financial market is preferred but not required
