Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Consultant / Architect to lead and execute lift-and-shift migrations of enterprise workloads into OCI. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in infrastructure discovery, OCI architecture design, and end-to-end implementation for both application and database tiers.

This role demands deep hands-on experience in designing, configuring, and managing Oracle OCI infrastructure, including network, compute, storage, security, and migration tooling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute lift-and-shift migrations from on-prem or other cloud platforms to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
  • Perform discovery and assessment of existing environments (Linux/Windows, EBS, databases, middleware, etc.)
  • Design scalable, secure, and cost-effective OCI architectures aligned to application and business needs
  • Configure core infrastructure components: VCNs, Subnets, Load Balancers, IAM, Compartments, Security Lists, and DR
  • Plan and implement hybrid connectivity (FastConnect, VPN, DNS, firewall, etc.)
  • Collaborate with Apps DBA, EBS, and integration teams for application cutover and performance validation
  • Prepare technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and runbooks
  • Support go-live, post-migration stabilization, and performance tuning
  • Engage with Oracle support for escalations and best practices

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of overall IT infrastructure experience
  • 3+ years of hands-on Oracle OCI experience (compute, storage, networking, IAM, policies)
  • Proven success in at least 2-3 full-cycle OCI migrations (lift-and-shift or re-platform)
  • Expertise in OCI CLI, Terraform (IaC), and scripting (bash, PowerShell, Python preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of OCI architecture components, high availability, and disaster recovery design
  • Familiarity with Oracle workloads (EBS, Oracle DB, WebLogic, SOA, etc.) in OCI
  • Experience in configuring monitoring, backup, and logging services in OCI
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Nice to Have:

  • Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Architect Certification (Professional or Associate)
  • Experience in Oracle Autonomous Database, Exadata Cloud@Customer, or hybrid OCI models
  • Experience with Cloud Guard, Security Zones, and WAF
  • Familiarity with cloud cost modeling and optimization tools
