Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Project Planning & Scheduling Specialist to support our projects in and around the New York City Metro area. This is an exciting opportunity to join a great team and company.

This position will support a variety of projects across the East Region. The successful candidate will have exciting career advancement opportunities. The selected candidate will provide technical support to project managers, including analysis, observation, and regulatory compliance activities associated with a variety of initiatives.

The candidate will interface with both design and construction professionals as well as clients, trade contractors, and operations and maintenance staff. This position requires onsite presence during building investigations, construction site visits, functional testing of building systems, controls and enclosure elements.

The job responsibilities for this position will include but are not limited to:

  • Monitors development and maintenance of Contractor CPM Construction Schedule in adherence with applicable DEP SOPs and PMIS guidance.

  • Verifies Contractor compliance with Contract schedule requirements.

  • Participates in Construction Status Meetings.

  • Participates in all Job Progress Meetings, I&T Meeting, CPM Meetings, and other meetings as requested by Resident Engineers.

  • Actively engages with the Contractor(s) and the CM staff and perform independent site walks to verify progress to ensure that a realistic Schedule Analysis Report is provided to the client.

  • Generates the Schedule Analysis Report; the Schedule Analysis Reports (SAR's) must have actual analysis and explanations of CM concerns or disagreement with logic sequencing or durations, and actualization of physical work items.

  • Provides a shadow schedule, ensuring that the SARs are uploaded to PMIS (E-Builder) in the correct folders for only DEP's access after period of review by the Resident Engineer and Assistant Resident Engineers.

  • Provides an agenda for all CPM meetings with the Contractor(s). Agendas can take input from Contractor or Design, but must be controlled by CM.

  • Leads all CPM meetings with the Contractor(s), with support from the CM/DCM & RE'S as required.

  • Reviews Contractor CPM Schedule submissions such as Baseline, Revisions, Updates; and reports results to the CM and RE at the site.

  • Prepares presentations for Project reporting to DEP.

  • Prepares and distributes all CM scheduling correspondence to the Client and Contractor(s). (Subject to review by the CM/DCM and RE's)

  • Prepares and modifies documentation for delay analyses.

  • Maintains and reports on Independent CM Schedule (Shadow Schedule); your Comments should include suggested resequencing or advancement of tasks to recover the project schedule and should call out logic that differs from actual work sequencing based on field observations and input from Resident Engineers.

  • Prepares preliminary and final extension of time reports.

  • Prepares BonLiquidated Damages Analysis as required at the completion of the construction contracts.

  • Assists the CM/DCM with tracking and responses to all contractor submitted delay claim notices submitted to DEP.

  • Ensures Contractor schedule impacts are incorporated into all Change Orders. Performing Leverage Analysis of the construction contracts at the appropriate stages.

  • Assists the CM/RE in determining if the performance of the contractor's work will achieve the timely completion of the project in accordance with the schedule.

  • Assists the CM/DCM in preparation of responses to contractor's delay letters.

  • Supports analysis of schedule, identifies and investigates project schedule variances.

  • Collects and updates data and updates and produces scheduling reports.

  • Assists in the development and maintenance of WBS and support activities to implement applicable coding. Supports basic schedule development.

  • Supports gathering and assembling data for schedule updating.

  • Supports measurement of project schedule progress and gathers and assembles data for schedule and network updating. Gathers data for schedule baseline development and maintenance.

  • Supports monthly report preparation.

  • May participate in planning and scheduling meetings to gain insight to planning and scheduling issues.

  • Other tasks as assigned.


Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA/BS in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

  • Valid U.S Driver's License.

  • Experience using Primavera P6 software.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Masters Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field

  • 7 years of experience in planning and scheduling concepts and principles including effects on financial performance.

  • PSP Certified.

  • Experience with NYC DEP projects.

  • Experience with infrastructure projects and schedule durations.

  • Understanding of basic scheduling and cost baseline fundamentals, concepts and principles.

  • Experience with construction drawings, specifications and construction contracting methods.

  • Strong understanding of CPM scheduling concepts and principles and able to develop basic engineering, procurement and construction logic.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $110,000.00 - $160,000.00.
