Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Netezza Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, maintain, and optimize our IBM Netezza data warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will ensure database performance, integrity, and security while supporting development, testing, and production environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain IBM Netezza databases.
- Monitor database performance and tune SQL queries.
- Perform data migrations, backups, and restores.
- Manage user access, roles, and security.
- Automate routine DBA tasks and support ETL operations.
- Troubleshoot database issues and support development teams.
Required Skills:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Netezza.
- Strong SQL and performance tuning skills.
- Experience with data warehousing concepts.
- Familiarity with ETL tools and scripting (e.g., shell, Python).
- Understanding of database backup/recovery and security practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms.
- Knowledge of other RDBMS (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL) is a plus.
