responsibilities:

In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in defining and implementing the client's overarching data governance strategy. Your responsibilities will include:



  • Strategic Leadership: Develop, deploy, and continuously refine a federated data governance model, encompassing policies, procedures, and best practices for data as a business-owned asset. This includes driving the adoption of data mesh architecture models and establishing clear data responsibility and ownership across diverse data domains.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Lead and facilitate a cross-functional Data Governance Committee, fostering shared accountability and alignment across IT, legal, compliance, and all business units.
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Direct and lead data governance-related compliance audits, ensuring adherence to internal and external regulations. You will also be a key stakeholder in other relevant organizational audits.
  • Innovation & Evolution: Continuously monitor and assess new and evolving data governance practices and technologies, determining their applicability and recommending enhancements to the existing governance model.
  • Culture & Advocacy: Champion data literacy and data governance awareness across the organization, promoting a culture of data excellence.

qualifications:

To excel in this role, you should possess a robust blend of technical expertise, leadership acumen, and communication prowess:



  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in a data or technology-related discipline, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Experience: 8-10 years of progressive experience in data management roles, with at least 4 years in a leadership position within data governance.
  • Data Governance Expertise: Strong understanding of various data governance frameworks, data quality principles, data stewardship, and data security practices.
  • Architectural Knowledge: Hands-on experience with data mesh architectures and a proven ability to manage data as a product.
  • Influential Leadership: Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment, effectively influencing senior management and key stakeholders.
