Duties:
  • Troubleshoot AMAT ENDURA PVD and CVD process equipment failures.
  • Optimize AMAT CENTURA WCVD equipment to match process performance across tools and maximize output.
  • Qualify new equipment, new raw materials, and new consumable parts.
  • Assist process engineering with new qualifications.
  • Develop and monitor process and equipment measurements to improve quality.
  • Provide training to equipment technicians for new tools and procedures.
  • Design, prototype, and deploy equipment upgrades.
  • Conduct root cause investigation of discrepant material and implement yield improvement programs.
  • Integrate Semiconductor manufacturing process and equipment engineering improve yield, quality, cost, and cycle time.
  • Analyze cycle time and equipment availability/utilization metrics.
  • Write operating and equipment maintenance specifications.
  • Partner with manufacturing operations to continuously improve factory performance.
  • Perform inventory management of critical spare parts, consumables, and repair loops.
  • Mentor junior engineers in the group.

Requirements:

Must have a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or closely related field of study (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) and 36 months of experience in the proffered position or related occupation owning CVD and PVD production equipment in a 24/7 semiconductor manufacturing environment.

Alternatively, may have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or closely related field of study (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) and 60 months of experience in the proffered position or related occupation owning CVD and PVD production equipment in a 24/7 semiconductor manufacturing environment.

Must also possess the following (quantitative experience requirements not applicable to this section):
  • Demonstrated Expertise (DE) depositing various PVD films including CrSi, AlCu, NiCr, Ti, IMP Ti, TiW, TiN, Pd, PdSi, AlSi, V, and Co;
  • DE de-facilitating, relocating, re-facilitating, and starting up an AMAT Endura PVD or TxZ system with no outside support;
  • DE designing and developing various PVD clamp rings and process kits;
  • DE transferring manufacturing processes from MRC Eclipse Mark IIs/IVs to AMAT Endura 5200/5500s; and
  • DE with 150mm to 200mm metal deposition process conversion development.
