Kalahari Resorts & Conventions delivers a waterpark resort and conference experience all under one roof. The authentically African-themed resort is home to America's largest indoor waterparks and features well-appointed guest rooms, full-service Spa Kalahari, a fun-filled family entertainment center, on-site signature restaurants, unique retail shops and a state-of-the-art convention center.
We are inviting you to apply for the IT Tier 1 Technician position. In this role, you will be part of an IT team responsible for the successful overall analysis, development, enhancement, testing, implementation, installation, monitoring, operation, support and maintenance of our Kalahari applications/systems, analytical & guest facing platforms/environments, end user computers, devices, audio and visual equipment.
Additionally, you would develop and maintain a general understanding of business operations combined with gaining foundational IT experiences and knowledge to triage and provide resolution of technical issues and problems. You would be a part of a team to install, configure, and test new versions, patches, and upgrades, partnering with the necessary infrastructure and IT Security enterprise teams. You would participate in a team on-call rotation, available to work some off-hours and weekends, in a flexible schedule on-site. This position may require travel to other resort locations on occasion.
We do require that you have a background, consisting of a bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology or Management Information Systems from a four-year college or university; or entry level to three years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Additional required skills include:
- Prefer bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology or Management Information Systems from a two, four-year college or university; or entry level to three years technical IT engineering, application, and/or software development experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior technical IT experience a plus.
- Experience and/or familiarity with server and workstation operating systems including Windows, Linux
- Experience and/or familiarity working with various 3rd party and custom software applications, equipment, devices, hardware & platforms/environments that are in support of hospitality/restaurant/gaming/retail/entertainment and/or related industry (i.e., point of Sale, property management, tablets, kiosks, payments etc.).
- Experience and/or familiarity gathering requirements with business teams to enable the IT Team to architect, build, design and implement technology solutions, able to follow defined enterprise architecture and technical design standards.
- Experience and/or familiarity with back-end application database technologies such as SQL Server
- Experience and/or familiarity with application integrations resulting in flow of transactional & other critical operational data (i.e., API's)
- Experience and/or familiarity with analytical, business intelligence and data warehouse/marts/lake that produce critical reporting and analytical models for the organization (i.e., Snowflake, Teradata)
- Experience and/or familiarity with basic IT security & data protocols and standards (i.e., PII , PCI, SOX, GDPR/CCPA, access rights/SSO), able to follow compliance guidelines ex: able to work with guest facing applications and guest data)
- Experience and/or familiarity with payments related functionality & processes a plus.
- Experience and/or familiarity on an IT Support team and working with standard Incident, Problem and Change management ITIL toolsets (i.e., ServiceNow, Remedy) in tracking and providing status on IT support work activities.
- Experience and/or familiarity engaging with 3rd party vendors for additional product insight and support.
- Experience and/or familiarity with change management processes to ensure smooth migration between dev, QA and production environments.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from guests and business / operations areas.
- Must be able to utilize and communicate functional and technical components both verbally and through documentation.
- Solid organizational, problem solving, and time management skills, able to complete work assigned tasks to expectations.
- Need to be a team player, willing to help anyone in the immediate area on a minute's notice.
