Job Title: RF Engineer

Location: West Nyack, NY

30 Month Contract

Job Description:

The ideal RF Engineer will:

Opportunities:
  • Involvement in the system performance aspects of macro network engineering in a challenging RF environment.
  • Participation in all aspects of macro deployment from the initial planning and contract phase through the final testing and acceptance phase.
  • Development of skill sets related to Real Estate, RF Engineering, Equipment Engineering, Construction Engineering, Project Management, and System Performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Redesigning mature network areas to minimize capacity constraints and improve SINR.
  • Collaborating with other network areas to ensure performance fixes and initiatives are in place.
  • Ensuring customers continue to enjoy crystal-clear connections and top-notch call performance.

Job Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
  • Managing search area issuance, candidate assessment, and approvals.
  • Partnering with System Performance to improve various network KPIs.
  • Using internal tools to process regulatory compliance.
  • Working on new cell sites, ensuring proper integration into the network and optimization for peak performance.
  • Performing Macro/Small Cell design, including antenna selection and placement.
  • Utilizing knowledge of GSM, LTE, CDMA 1x, EVDO, 5G, and microwave to contribute to network design.
  • Preparing timely FCC/FAA and FAS submissions.
  • Conducting data analysis of switch statistics and drive data from conducted drive tests for potential sites, new site integration, and system optimization.

Previous Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Solid experience in RF design and optimization.
  • Degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science.
  • Knowledge of RF theory and practice, as well as LTE/5G technology.
  • Experience in design & optimization of LTE/5G networks.
  • Expert knowledge of propagation modeling software such as Atoll.
  • Understanding of LTE and 5G network KPIs and key parameters.
  • Experience with Model Tuning.
  • Knowledge of various RF tools such as Mapinfo or post-processing software.
  • Knowledge of SQL scripting or VB Scripting.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, including VB macro creation and worksheet manipulation.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external customers.
  • Engineering backgrounds in RF and/or system performance.
  • Excellent analytic, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.
