Overview

Hekima is seeking an individual with an expert-level understanding of data and Azure services, who has a track record of contributions to industry forums and is looking to take their career to the next level.

Responsibilities

The Senior Azure/Data Architect is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and maintenance of data solutions within the Azure cloud environment. This includes designing data pipelines, building data models, ensuring data security and compliance, and mentoring junior team members.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Architecture Design: Develop and maintain data architecture plans, including data models, metadata systems, and data governance policies.

Cloud Data Solutions: Design and implement data solutions using Azure services like Data Factory, Databricks, and Synapse Analytics.

Data Pipelines and ETL: Design, build, and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes for data integration and transformation.

Data Security and Compliance: Ensure data security and compliance with relevant policies and standards.

Data Governance: Define and implement data governance processes to ensure data accuracy, reliability, and accessibility.

Data Modeling: Design data models and schemas to support business requirements and analytical insights.

Collaboration: Collaborate with stakeholders, including business analysts, data scientists, and other architects, to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.

Problem Solving: Analyze and resolve data-related technical issues.

Continuous Improvement: Stay current with new technologies and techniques to improve Azure data services and architecture.

Business Intelligence and Reporting: Support business intelligence and reporting needs by ensuring data is available and accessible for analysis.

Skills

Proficiency in Azure cloud services, including Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure SQL, Database, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Blob Storage.

Experience with Microsoft SQL Server tools (SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS).

Experience with data engineering processes using Apache Spark, Python, R, T-SQL, or KQL.

Experience with generating Semantic Models.

Familiarity with Microsoft Power BI for data visualization

Qualifications

4+ years of experience with cloud engineering, particularly in Azure and/or Microsoft Fabric.
