Description

The Role:

In this role your work will be of a technical nature with decisions made within the limits of general practices, policies and standards. Your work will involve complex manufacturing problems including the need to troubleshoot and follow issues to resolve. You will be responsible for equipment related to the manufacturing process. In this position your use of independent discernment required. You will use substantial independent judgment in complex or unusual situations. Your responsibility may involve training others and assigning work to a small group of employees.

  • Prioritization of workload to enable employees to accomplish all responsibilities
  • Project management for large projects for equipment
  • Creation & maintenance of engineering standardized work
  • Providing technical direction to and oversight of outside vendor sources
  • Providing technical direction to and coordination of less experienced industrial engineers
  • Perform People Leader responsibilities for direct reports including but not limited to: CAP - goal setting, mid-year and year-end reviews, managing results and evaluating/coaching individual performance, compensation planning and communication, training and development planning
  • Support manager with general administrative tasks such as managing budget targets, approving travel requests, expense reports, and purchasing request, & planning vacation schedules
  • Implement and maintain key safety processes and programs
  • You will analyze and implement product or machinery designs for the best method for manufacturing processes
  • You will propose and evaluate the processes for equipment in assigned area
  • Direct the design, development, and/or improvement of manufacturing processes for assigned area
  • You will provide technical support for specific plant operations
  • You will interact on a regular basis with design, product and manufacturing engineering staffs
  • Provide direction to engineering support group and vendors
  • You will evaluate or monitor expenditures for processes and/or equipment
  • You will handle engineering projects with plants and/or Manufacturing Engineering Staffs

Required Qualifications:

  • Education/skills: Bachelor's degree with major in Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Competencies: Proven ability to design work operations that meet safety, quality, and efficiency requirements. Knowledge of Standardized Work (STDS), Assembly Line Balance (APS), Benchmark Calculator (BMC), Simulations, Man-Machine Charts, Indirect Labor Studies, Purchasing Planning & Financial Tracking, and Throughput Improvement Process (TIP)
  • Manufacturing Engineering or Plant IE experience with a minimum of 5 years
