Overview:
The IT Business Systems/Configuration Analyst is responsible for managing and supporting the lifecycle of Configuration Items (CIs), ensuring accurate baseline configurations, and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements. This role bridges technical and business functions, helping to identify, investigate, and resolve unauthorized changes while supporting change control and asset management activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Execute daily operations related to provisioning, monitoring, and decommissioning of CIs to maintain accurate configuration baselines.
Ensure all configuration changes comply with internal policies and regulatory standards based on classification.
Investigate and help resolve unauthorized deviations in CI baselines in collaboration with Subject Matter Experts.
Identify and contribute to process improvement initiatives related to configuration and change management.
Analyze data and report on metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of configuration management processes.
Act as a technical liaison for change management processes, including impact analysis and decision support.
Collaborate with the Asset Manager to maintain the accuracy and integrity of the CMDB, perform regular audits, and ensure all CI records and relationships are current.
Additional Duties:
Develop deep knowledge of business processes within the assigned functional area.
Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including business users and technical teams.
Break down complex problems into actionable solutions using analytical and process skills.
Recommend improvements and resolve conflicts in project and operational settings.
Use knowledge of business workflows to identify gaps and dependencies in processes and systems.
Understand technical solutions, pinpoint failure points, and assist in resolution efforts.
Support application testing directly or by aiding end users.
Maintain clear and current documentation aligned with project frameworks.
Stay informed on industry technology trends.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:
High School Diploma or GED
Bachelor s degree or equivalent experience
Minimum 3 years of related experience
Preferred:
Experience with Configuration Management tools like Tripwire Enterprise Console and White List Profiler
Familiarity with NERC CIP-010 requirements
Experience using ITSM tools such as ServiceNow or ChangeGear
