Job Title: IT Senior Business Analyst
Duration: 6 Months (Tentative)
Location: Quincy, MA (Hybrid)
Summary:
A motivated IT Senior Business Analyst is needed to support a Medicaid Systems Development (MSD) team for healthcare-related applications. This role is dedicated to enhancing the Money Follows the Person (MFP) Demonstration program, which helps individuals transition from facility-based care to community living. The Sr. Business Analyst will also contribute to an AWS migration initiative, collaborating with the Shared Applications Architect and Release Management teams.
This role involves assessing and documenting business needs, analyzing data to inform IT solutions, and improving products and services. The ideal candidate will work with business users to define user stories, coordinate testing, training, and release management processes, and serve as a communication link between IT and business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct business analysis to gather requirements using methods like interviews, JAD sessions, and workshops.
Develop business process models, root cause analyses, and gap analyses to identify system improvements.
Create and maintain detailed documentation including BRDs, use cases, feasibility studies, and impact analyses.
Verify requirements throughout the SDLC to ensure solution alignment and test validation.
Support change management and risk mitigation efforts using RAID logs and project management standards.
Monitor and respond to support tickets and inquiries related to operational and system issues.
Create technical diagrams and process flows using tools like Visio.
Collaborate across teams to enhance customer satisfaction and ensure project alignment.
Required Skills:
Experience with a broad range of business analysis techniques and software acceptance methodologies.
Technical knowledge of applications and platforms such as Java, .NET, Oracle, and Cloud environments.
Proficiency in Jira, SQL, Rational Quality Manager (RQM), and ADA compliance.
Understanding of NIST standards and secure handling of PII and PHI.
Strong knowledge of SDLC and testing methodologies (functional, integration, performance, UAT).
Ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Excellent communication, documentation, and customer service skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Visio, and other collaboration/project management tools.
Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Professional IIBA certification preferred.
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in IT applications or system support, preferably in healthcare.
At least 3 years of business/data analysis experience in IT system development projects.
