Job Title: Nuclear Design Engineer FSAR Project

Location: Onsite Covert, MI

Contract Length: 6 months, with strong possibility of extension

Clearance/Badge Requirement: Must be eligible for site badging (4 6 weeks onboarding process)

Position Summary:

We are seeking a Nuclear Design Engineer to support an ongoing FSAR (Final Safety Analysis Report) project at a nuclear facility in Covert, MI. This is an onsite role requiring a highly skilled engineer who can immediately contribute to critical plant operations and design support activities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of 10 CFR 50.59 regulations and previous nuclear plant experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Modify and update Design Change Packages (DCPs) in accordance with regulatory and site-specific standards.
  • Provide configuration management and ensure design documentation aligns with licensing and operational requirements.
  • Offer field engineering support, performing walkdowns and collaborating with operations and maintenance teams.
  • Interpret and implement FSAR-related requirements in support of safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Work cross-functionally with engineering, licensing, and operations teams to resolve design-related issues quickly and effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with NRC guidelines, specifically 10 CFR 50.59 evaluations and associated documentation.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Engineering (B.S. in Engineering required).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the nuclear power industry, preferably with hands-on field and design work.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and practical application of 10 CFR 50.59.
  • Prior experience supporting FSAR or similar licensing documentation projects.
  • Strong technical writing, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to obtain site badging clearance (background check, fitness-for-duty screening, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license Not required but highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with nuclear plant design standards, field protocols, and safety compliance.
  • Ability to hit the ground running in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment.

Additional Information:

  • Candidate must be willing to work onsite full-time in Covert, MI.
  • Onboarding and site access may take 4 6 weeks from the point of offer.
  • Travel and lodging support may be provided for qualified non-local candidates (if applicable).
