Level 3 Data Center Technician - Onsite, Long-Term Contract

Location: Mt. Pleasant, WI
Shift differential for nights
Schedule: All shifts available (A/B Days & Nights) on a 3x4x12 rotation

• A Side Days: Sunday-Tuesday & every other Wednesday, 6 AM-6 PM
• A Side Nights: Same days, 6 PM-6 AM
• B Side Days: Thursday-Saturday & every other Wednesday, 6 AM-6 PM
• B Side Nights: Same days, 6 PM-6 AM

Job Brief

We are seeking an experienced Level 3 Data Center Technician for a long-term onsite role. This position involves advanced troubleshooting, server installations, GPU deployments, and ensuring uninterrupted network services. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of network infrastructure, and hands-on expertise with server and/or GPU deployments.

Responsibilities

• Perform Level 1 and Level 2 tasks as needed:
  • Move, inspect, and install servers and switches.
  • Cable devices according to provided wire maps and standards.
  • Install additional components (NIC, drives, memory).
  • Audit servers and consumables.
  • Troubleshoot server issues and isolate problems.
  • Order and replace defective parts; return faulty components to vendors.
  • Update firmware and configure IP addresses.
  • Assist network admins with cabling, optics replacement, and hardware upgrades.
  • Rack and stack servers or switches for remote configuration.
  • Deploy and configure GPUs in servers.
  • Perform break-fix tasks and component replacements.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting and ticket resolution.
• Act as liaison between team members and management.
• Prioritize and manage workload across multiple projects.
• Review build documentation and validate requirements.
• Direct build activities and ensure compliance with data center standards.
• Monitor project timelines and provide status updates.
• Ensure safety compliance and operational excellence.
• Lead GPU deployment and troubleshooting efforts.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of computer hardware, servers, and components.
• Familiarity with standard office applications.
• Ability to work non-standard hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Physical ability to lift up to 35 lbs, climb ladders, and wear PPE.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

Preferred Skills & Certifications

• CompTIA A+, Server+, CCENT (or equivalent experience).
• CCNA preferred.
• Windows OS experience.
• Scripting experience (PowerShell, Python, Bash).
• Structured cabling, rack & stack, fiber/copper termination.
• Familiarity with ITIL framework and ticketing systems.
• Understanding of network fundamentals (OSI Layers 1-3).
• Experience with GPU deployment and troubleshooting.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Mount Pleasant, WI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $36.30 - $36.30/hr.
