Job Details
Key Responsibilities
- Select and install tooling, fixtures, and workpieces on machines.
- Adjust machine settings to optimize speed, feed, and cutting path for material and tool types.
- Conduct in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc.) to ensure parts meet tolerances.
- Troubleshoot machining issues, making necessary offsets or adjustments to maintain product quality.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace, following all safety standards and best practices.
- Document production data accurately, including inspection records, setup sheets, and maintenance logs.
- Collaborate with team members to identify and implement process improvements.
- Other duties as assigned
What You Bring (Core Competencies)
- Proficiency in CAD software for interpreting designs and creating machining programs.
- Experience with power tools and manual machining techniques.
- Familiarity with Mazatrol programming language for CNC operations.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot machinery effectively.
- Competence in using Fanuc controls for CNC machine operation.
- Ability to weld components as needed for assembly or repairs.
- Knowledge of machining processes and techniques, including milling, turning, and grinding.
- Attention to detail with a focus on producing high-quality work consistently.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- 2+ years of experience operating CNC milling machines.
- Ability to set up, operate, and make minor program edits on CNC equipment.
- Familiarity with materials such as plastics and aluminum are a plus.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of a CNC machining certification program or formal apprenticeship.
- 5+ years of CNC milling experience, preferably in a job shop or custom manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with tight tolerances and high-precision parts.
- Familiarity with Mastercam, Fusion 360, or similar CAM software.
- Understanding of ISO 9001 quality standards and related processes.
Work Environmental & Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods (8+ hours).
- Regularly required to reach with hands and arms, bend, stoop, and lift parts/materials up to 50 pounds.
- Manual dexterity to handle small parts and hand tools.
- The ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, shoes, gloves, and hearing protection.
- Work in a manufacturing environment exposed to moderate noise, temperature fluctuations, and machining oils.
