The Digital Modernization Sector at Leidos currently has an opening for a Full Stack Developer to work in our Lorton, VA office. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the HEITS/DHS mission.
The developer would be responsible for technical planning, application software design, development and integration, and application support. They would evaluate alternatives including cost and risk, supportability and analyses for total systems. Duties include performing systems requirements analysis, functional analysis, timeline analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition, technical management, integration, system testing, and quality assurance. Influences development of solutions that impact strategic project/program goals and business results. Recommends and develops new technical solutions, products, and/or standards in support of function's strategy and operations. Resolves highly complex problems using significant application of technical knowledge, conceptualizing, reasoning and interpretation. Develops solutions that are highly innovative and achieved through research and integration of best practices.

Primary Responsibilities
- Ensure day to day operations of the development and production environments
- Deploying applications to different DHS networks
- Assist in Tier 2 and 3 tickets
- Work with development on infrastructure updates to the application
- Participate in the shaping of requirements for upgrades to the applications
- Patching of servers
- Performing STIG work to development and production servers
- Installation of certificates to development and production systems
- Creating / updating documentation or SOPs for processes involving deployments and maintenance of application servers
- Participate in general Agile daily scrums
- Work with team members, Product Owners, and Scrum Master to ensure User Story alignment and implementation to customer use cases
- Support the Agile software development lifecycle following Program SAFe practices
- Communicate key project data to team members and build team cohesion and effectiveness.
- Leverage Atlassian tool suite like JIRA and Confluence to track activities
- Apply and identify best practices and standard operating procedures
Basic Qualifications
- BS degree and 5 - 10 years of prior relevant experience
- 5+ years of general development experience
- 2+ years using database tools
- Must have excellent communications and documentation skills
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to effectively troubleshoot, resolve, or escalate problems
- Ability to communicate with executive leadership (internally or client) regarding matters of significant importance to the organization/project.
- Works to convince others to accept area's view/current practices and agree/accept new concepts, practices and approaches.
- In-depth understanding of technical principles, theories, concepts and their application across range of programs.
- Serves as a subject matter expert within technical domain area.
- Active Secret government security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with scripting using Python or similar scripting languages
- Experience with languages like HTML, Java, React
- Experience with PostgreSQL databases
- Government operations experience
- Experience deploying applications
- Active Top Secret government security clearance.
