Our client is currently seeking a qualified Dedicated Support Engineer to join their team onsite in Houston, TX and provide end-user support. This role is critical in supporting the IT infrastructure and end-user computing environment across lab and remote sites in the Greater Houston area. This engineer will work Monday to Friday, flexible hours between 7:00am - 5:00pm. There is occasional weekend/overtime as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities :

  • IT Infrastructure & End-User Support:
    Provide hands-on support for operating systems, endpoint security, software distribution, and hardware management. Utilize monitoring tools to proactively maintain the health of IT systems in lab and remote environments
  • Field Engineering & Onsite Repairs:
    Respond to escalated incidents that require physical presence. Travel to hubs and remote sites to resolve IT, network, or device issues that cannot be addressed remotely
  • IMAC Services (Install, Move, Add, Change):
    Execute installation and configuration tasks following established procedures and checklists. Contribute to documentation and process improvement
  • ITSM & ServiceNow:
    Manage incidents, service requests, and changes using ServiceNow. Maintain accurate records of IT assets and activities in compliance with ITIL practices
  • Project Support:
    Participate in team, individual, and collaborative projects involving IT infrastructure, lab environments, and warehousing systems
  • Ad-Hoc Services:
    Deliver flexible, skill-based support for undocumented or evolving IT needs, leveraging technical expertise and problem-solving capabilities


Skills and Qualifications :

  • Minimum 5+ years of IT support experience
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry
  • Proficiency in supporting Windows, Linux, networking, telecom, lab equipment, and process control domains
  • Experience working in an ITIL-based environment
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to interact with users and management face-to-face
  • A successful DSE will demonstrate technical agility, customer service excellence, and the ability to manage both structured and ad-hoc IT tasks
  • The role requires balancing incident resolution with proactive infrastructure support and project participation
  • Certifications in ITIL, Cisco, Microsoft, or Linux preferred but not required
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow or similar ITSM platforms preferred


Wage Range :
The rate for this position is between $30.00 - $44.00 per hour. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
