Job Title: IIS Administrator / Production Support Engineer

Location: Hybrid - 2 days onsite in Northwest Austin, TX (remote after training)

Salary Range: $(flexible base off experience)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and proactive IIS Administrator / Production Support Engineer to join our Infrastructure and DevOps team. This role is critical in supporting enterprise application deployments, managing production environments, and ensuring the stability and performance of both in-house and third-party applications.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in Windows Server environments, application installation and troubleshooting, and PowerShell scripting. This is a hybrid role requiring a presence in our Northwest Austin office at least two days per week, with additional onsite time during the training period.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer and support IIS servers, including application installation and configuration.
  • Execute and troubleshoot PowerShell scripts; ability to read and modify scripts is essential.
  • Support SQL Server environments and run database scripts as needed.
  • Troubleshoot client-server application issues, including network and connectivity problems.
  • Collaborate with development, QA, and helpdesk teams to support production deployments and lower environment releases.
  • Participate in weekly release cycles, including nightly and weekend deployments.
  • Assist in managing Azure and VM environments, with some exposure to physical appliances.
  • Provide support for legacy systems, including light mainframe familiarity (e.g., 1990s IBM DOS-based systems).
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve deployment processes and scripting efficiency.
Qualifications:
  • 4-5 years of IT experience, including:
  • 1-2 years in a helpdesk or support role
  • 2-3 years in infrastructure, server administration, or production support
  • Proficiency with Windows Server, IIS, and PowerShell
  • Familiarity with SQL Server and basic database operations
  • Experience with Azure and virtual machine management
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across application, server, and network layers
  • Exposure to mainframe systems is a plus
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends for deployments
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with enterprise application deploymentFamiliarity with Smartsheet or similar project/resource management toolsUnderstanding of DevOps practices and tools
