Who we're looking for

Toyota Financial Services' Enterprise Platforms team is seeking a passionate and highly motivated Lead Front End Developer to drive innovation and deliver exceptional user experiences. In this role, you will lead the creation of modern, high-quality front-end solutions that solve complex business challenges and empower platform engineering teams. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our digital platforms and supporting Toyota's commitment to excellence and innovation.

What you'll be doing

Imagine leading a talented team that crafts seamless, user-friendly interfaces while collaborating closely with designers, back-end developers, and product managers to bring impactful solutions to life. Success in this role means delivering high-quality projects on time, mentoring your team to grow their skills, and continuously pushing the boundaries of front-end development.

  • Lead and mentor a team of front-end developers, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
  • Own project delivery from concept through deployment, ensuring quality and timeliness.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to design and implement cohesive, innovative user experiences.
  • Provide technical guidance, conduct code reviews, and uphold coding standards and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex front-end challenges with creative, scalable solutions.
  • Stay ahead of emerging technologies and integrate new tools to optimize development workflows.
  • Define UI/UX strategy and architecture aligned with Toyota's vision for digital excellence.
  • Participate in recruiting and onboarding new talent to build a strong, dynamic team.


What you bring

Your expertise and experience will set you up for success in this role. We value candidates who bring:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience providing a strong foundation in front-end development.
  • Proven experience building complex, large-scale applications using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and cloud content delivery tools.
  • Proficiency in at least one modern JavaScript/TypeScript framework such as React, VueJS, ASTRO, Ember, or SOLID.
  • Solid understanding of Node.js, NPM, Webpack, Babel, and continuous integration systems.
  • Deep knowledge of front-end build tools (Webpack, Angular CLI, Yarn, Gulp) and version control (Git).
  • Experience with testing frameworks like Jest, Cypress, or QUnit and a commitment to quality assurance.
  • Familiarity with web standards including accessibility, performance optimization, SEO, and security best practices.
  • Experience integrating front-end components with RESTful APIs and GraphQL services.
  • Understanding of scalable, resilient, and low-latency application architectures.
