Systems Engineer (Travel Required)
This is an exciting opportunity to join an innovative team supporting critical capital projects for an enterprise company! We are seeking a highly skilled and driven Systems Engineer to oversee the setup and maintenance of the extensive transportation inspection vision system. The ideal candidate will be involved in the ongoing development of the vision systems and play a crucial role in future projects involving advanced camera technologies and automated systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, modify, develop, write, and implement software programming applications.
- Support and install software applications and operating systems.
- Participate in the testing process, including test review, analysis, and test witnessing.
- Certify software for reliability and quality.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify software requirements and project goals.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and issues.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies.
This is a 12 month contract position with high possibility of extension. This position is hybrid but you will be traveling in the eastern U.S. to sites. You must live in Atlanta. The travel for this role is 25-30%. All travel expenses are covered. This is a great opportunity to work within an enterprise environment with a growing team! You will make a true impact.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- 5+ years of experience integrating software and hardware
- Degree or experience working as a Mechatronics or Robotic Engineer.
- Must have experience modifying circuit boards (Installing/Adjusting) cameras
- Experience with Electrical Work (running cables and wires)
- Experience with custom software
- Exposure to Linux server environments
- Basic C++ Programming experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Willingness to travel 25-30% of the time
- Demonstrated innovative and creative decision making
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Military Experience
- Dual Computer/Electrical Engineer
- Experience supporting and installing inspection portals is a plus
