Job Description -

Workload and Scheduling Engineer

Client is Apple

Elk Grove, CA (PREFERRED) or Sunnyvale, CA ( They need local or nearby 45 min distance)

Required Skills & Experience:

Operating Systems:

  • Proficient in Linux environments, including command-line tools, system troubleshooting, and basic server maintenance.

Shell Scripting

  • Strong experience with Bash scripting for automation, log processing, and workflow orchestration.

Job Schduling Tools:

  • Hands-on experience with AutoSys: job creation, calendars, dependencies, and monitoring.

  • Familiar with JS7: workflows, controller/agent setup.

Version Control & DevOps Practices:

  • Solid experience with Git/GitHub: commits, branching, merging, and pull requests.

  • Exposure to CI/CD tools.

  • Experience with Ansible for configuration management and system provisioning.

API Integration:

  • Working knowledge of REST APIs, including authentication, headers, and JSON payloads.

Monitoring & Logging:

  • Experience with Splunk for log analysis, searching, and dashboard creation.

  • Ability to troubleshoot jobs or infrastructure issues using system and application logs.

Containerization & Orchestration:

  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, including basic deployment, service management.

  • Understanding of container lifecycle and orchestration in a production or staging environment.

Documentation & Problem Solving:

  • Able to navigate and apply information from technical guides.

  • Doesn't require step-by-step instructions - self-driven and resourceful

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):

  • Development or automation scripting using Go (Golang).

  • Exposure to Docker.

  • Familiarity with change management processes and job promotion workflows across environments.
