THE ROLE:

We're looking for an experienced technical leader to drive key customer engineering projects. In this strategic role, you'll guide the transition from legacy systems to advanced AMD EPYC-based solutions, enhancing efficiency, scalability, and security. A deep understanding of processor microarchitecture, virtualization technologies, and software (including compilers, libraries and profilers) is essential, along with strong coding skills. The ideal candidate will have proven leadership, technical expertise, and a successful track record in migrating and optimizing complex applications across architectures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead the migration of customer legacy systems to AMD EPYC-based solutions for improved efficiency, scalability, and security
  • Leverage deep knowledge of CPU architecture to optimize software performance and to apply software-level code optimization techniques to enhance the overall performance of customer applications
  • Utilize expertise in database internals, analytics, and operating systems to drive software optimization strategies
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to software engineers, promoting innovation and collaboration within the team
  • Influence and contribute to the next generation of AMD product development through in-depth technical understanding and experience

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Comprehensive understanding of x86 computing architecture
  • Proven expertise in software-level code optimization
  • Successful track record in building and leading high-performing engineering teams
  • Deep knowledge of database internals, analytics, and operating systems

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
  • BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related equivalent

At AMD, your base pay is one part of your total rewards package. Your base pay will depend on where your skills, qualifications, experience, and location fit into the hiring range for the position.
