Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) with strong DevOps experience to support and optimize our cloud-based data infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in AWS, Spark, Terraform, and a solid background in managing large-scale batch data systems.
Must-Have Skills:
- AWS Services: S3, EMR, Step Functions, Lambda, SQS, SNS
- Big Data Processing: Spark (PySpark or Java), handling terabytes of data
- Infrastructure as Code: Terraform
- Programming/Scripting: Python, SQL
- Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for learning
Preferred / Ideal Skills:
- Data Platforms: Snowflake, Redshift
- AWS Monitoring & Compute: CloudWatch, ECS
- Multi-database SQL knowledge
- Experience with scheduling tools (Control-M, Autosys or similar)
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (Grafana, Dynatrace or similar)
Good to Have:
- AWS Certification
- Experience with Agile methodologies
- Exposure to CI/CD automation
- Additional scripting (Shell, Perl) and/or Java knowledge
Experience Requirements:
- 8+ years as a software engineer
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with AWS, Big Data, Spark, and SQL
- 2 3 years of experience with Shell scripting
- Proven experience in system design, development, testing, and resilient, secure architecture
