Business Data Analyst - Technology Solutions

Contract Opportunity through Catapult Solutions Group

Position Overview

Join a leading technology company as a Business Data Analyst supporting their expanding product offerings. This is a unique 9-month contract opportunity (through May 2026) to build analytics infrastructure from the ground up while driving scalability and customer success in new markets.

Extension Opportunities: Contract may be extended with possible chance for full-time conversion

The Business Challenge

There is currently a significant gap between established market capabilities and expanding market operations. This role will be critical in bridging that gap by building comprehensive analytics infrastructure and driving scalability to match established operational standards.

Work Arrangement

  • Preferred: San Diego, CA (3 days/week in office)
  • Alternative: Mountain View, CA or Plano, TX (3 days/week in office)

Key Responsibilities

Drive Business Impact through Localized Analytics

  • Identify and develop key performance metrics to measure effectiveness of assisted offerings including Full Service, Business Services, Assist & Review, Advisory Coach, and Support Defense
  • Partner with cross-functional leaders to deliver insights that improve customer experience, reduce friction in human assisted flows, and support service consistency across diverse customer segments
  • Automate and maintain localized reporting to support real-time, data-informed decision-making year-round and through peak seasons

Elevate Data Infrastructure & Modeling

  • Extend and adapt core dashboards and models to meet regional requirements, incorporating localized taxonomy, metric definitions, and region-specific workflows
  • Lead development of segmentation frameworks (e.g., digital vs. expert support) to guide proactive help strategies and improve resolution outcomes
  • Optimize data pipelines and ensure robust, scalable infrastructure to support business intelligence across the expert support ecosystem

Improve Operational Efficiency & Seasonal Readiness

  • Analyze channel efficiency metrics across chat, async, and voice to inform staffing, routing, and tooling decisions
  • Support operational planning and execution including launch readiness, backlog management, and change management aligned with regulatory compliance
  • Drive clarity and understanding of KPI performance, including establishing data-driven metric targets, performing root cause analysis, and developing automated processes

Influence Strategy Through Insightful Storytelling

  • Deliver compelling narratives that translate complex analytical findings into actionable recommendations for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Aggregate VOC (voice of customer) signals spanning surveys, chat, and call data to proactively shape customer journeys and surface improvement opportunities
  • Collaborate with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure alignment on strategy, service quality, and customer success in expanding markets

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or a related field
  • Proven ability to extract insights from data and communicate compelling data-driven stories that drive business impact
  • Excellent SQL skills for data extraction and manipulation
  • Expertise in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Qlik)
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving and end-to-end quantitative thinking skills
  • Proactive and growth-oriented mindset – you identify opportunities for innovation rather than just responding to problems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Python or R for advanced analytics, modeling, and automation
  • Familiarity with big data tools (e.g., Snowflake, Spark, Databricks)
  • Machine learning and Generative AI experience
  • Passion for mentorship and developing talent within the team

Interview Process

Round 1 (45 minutes): SQL Assessment (20 min) + Behavioral Interview (25 min)

Final Interview (60 minutes): Case Study Presentation (30 min) + Panel Behavioral Interview (30 min)
