Our client, an insurance organization, located in Brentwood, TN; is in need of a Full-Time AS400 Programmer. Their ideal candidate will be an excellent Application Developer, proficient in AS400/iSeries Legacy Systems. The pay range for this role is $100,000-$110,000. This position is Hybrid (T/W/TH in office).

AS400 Programmer
We're looking for a skilled developer to contribute to the development, maintenance, and improvement of batch applications, databases, and user interfaces primarily supporting marketing and financial operations. This role will involve hands-on involvement throughout the application lifecycle-from initial development through deployment and ongoing support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design, coding, testing, and rollout of scalable enhancements and new solutions for core systems and business processes.
- Create technical documentation to support each phase of the development cycle.
- Perform peer reviews to ensure deliverables meet internal quality and compliance standards.
- Analyze business workflows and requirements to identify technical options and provide time and effort estimates for enhancements or fixes.
- Investigate production issues and business requests, proposing and implementing effective resolutions.
- Contribute to the refinement and evolution of development processes, coding standards, and team best practices.
- Act as a communication bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders, clearly explaining solutions, timelines, and issues.
- Participate in on-call support as needed, especially in the event of job failures or operational escalations from system operations teams.
- Work under general guidance from team leads or management and complete additional duties as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience in application development and systems analysis.
- Strong understanding of software development concepts and the ability to evaluate technical options for system improvements.
- Solid programming experience and ability to deliver maintainable, efficient code.
- Strong analytical skills and sound decision-making ability.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to build productive working relationships with both technical and non-technical team members and business partners.
Technical Skills - AS400 / iSeries Focus:
- Strong knowledge of RPG, RPGLE, SQLRPGLE, CL, and CLLE
- Experience with DB2-400 and SQL400
- Familiarity with AS400 toolsets such as Turnover, Hawkeye, and Robot Scheduler
