System Engineer Team Lead

A reputable Montgomery County manufacturing company is seeking to add a System Engineering Team Lead. They are searching for a "do-er" who can oversee a team in daily maintenance and projects, as well as perform hands-on engineering and architectural work. Specifically, this position is part of the Directory Services team, which manages servers, storage, virtualization, and backups. They are searching for a project designer and implementer with experience in backup revamps, VMware upgrades, and VDI installation. Cloud experience is a plus, as they are also migrating to Azure.

You will also be delegating assignments for project work and managing junior engineers and administrators in this job. The VP will be your direct supervisor.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong project work with Virtualization, upgrades, implementations, migrations
• Expertise in VMware, vCenter, and vSphere
• Windows Server Expertise, upgrades, builds, migrations
• Strong Storage Experience, SAN upgrades, migrations, etc.
• Experience managing and upgrading backups, Veeam
• Design and Architecture experience for server and virtualization technologies
• Strong experience executing projects, upgrades, migrations, implementations, etc.
• Leadership Experience, mentoring and training staff members
• Project Planning Experience

Desired Skills & Experience

• Azure Cloud Server Experience, project or maintenance
• Experience working with M365 technologies, AD, O365, Intune
