Operations and Planning Compliance Engineer/Analyst

Candidates provided must be pre-screened to ensure they fully meet the qualifications and experience level requirements.Our client is seeking an experienced transmission system operations or planning engineer/analyst to serve as project manager and independently plan and conduct compliance engagements (audits) and internal control assessments based on risk within the Bulk Power System (Energy Sector).

Primary Responsibilities
  • Prepare and perform FERC-approved Tariff related engagements (audits), NERC Reliability Standards engagements (audits), and internal control assessments in the areas of transmission (system) operations, transmission planning, and market administration
  • Collaborate with other team members on other audits/activities outside your primary area of technical expertise (ex: information systems, accounting, finance, etc.)
  • Participate in annual audit risk assessment and audit planning activities within the Bulk Power System and related support functions (e.g. transmission planning), providing leadership to other staff and leading development of audit strategies and approaches in areas of specific technical expertise.
  • Assist with training and development of audit staff, particularly in areas of specific technical expertise (Bulk Power System and support functions).
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor s degree in a technical discipline such as engineering, information systems, computer science, or an industry-related field of study
Required:
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in the electric power industry with transmission operations experience preferred.
  • Lifelong learner who is open to collaboration and has a growth mindset
  • Strong communication skills (interpersonal, oral, and written) including the ability to interact professionally at every level of the organization and with external parties.
  • Proficiency in PC-based tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Desired but not required
  • Graduate degree in a technical discipline such as engineering, information systems computer science and / or business administration is highly desirable.
  • Auditing or compliance experience
  • Knowledge of internal control concepts and risk based assessments
  • NERC-certified system operator (NCSO) credential
