Job Title: Security Analyst Project Lead

Location: Columbia, SC (Hybrid 3 days onsite per week)

Job Description

The Security Analyst Project Lead will provide expert-level security analysis, compliance support, and audit preparation for a state-level technology environment. This role requires extensive experience with IRS security standards, risk management, and collaborative work with regulatory agencies. The consultant will serve as a lead resource responsible for evaluating security controls, ensuring compliance with federal guidelines, and supporting ongoing cybersecurity initiatives.


Required Skills

Candidates must meet all required qualifications to be considered:

  • 5+ years of expert-level experience in security analysis, including:

    • Risk assessments

    • Vulnerability management

    • Security incident response

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience preparing for and participating in IRS Safeguard Reviews within a state agency environment.

  • 3+ years of experience working with the IRS Safeguard Computer Security Evaluation Matrix (SCSEM), including:

    • Control implementation

    • Compliance evaluation

    • Documentation and reporting

  • 3+ years of experience with IRS Publication 1075 (Rev. 11-2021) and its application within regulated environments.


Preferred Skills

  • Experience supporting Child Support Enforcement (CSE) programs.

  • Experience with federal or state regulatory compliance frameworks, such as:

    • FISMA

    • NIST standards

    • IRS Publication 1075

  • Experience preparing technical documentation and providing audit support.
