We're a small but growing MSP based in Providence, RI, specializing in help desk and desktop support for a diverse client base. Our team is passionate about delivering responsive, high-quality IT services. As we expand, we're looking to bring on a senior-level Network Administrator to strengthen our technical capabilities and provide escalation support for complex infrastructure issues.

Position Overview

The Network Administrator will serve as the senior technical resource within our team, supporting and maintaining client networks, systems, and firewalls. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, mentoring junior staff, and solving challenging infrastructure problems. You'll be the go-to expert for escalations and will play a key role in improving our service delivery and technical standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the escalation point for help desk and desktop support technicians.
  • Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot client networks, servers, and firewalls.
  • Configure and manage switches, routers, firewalls (e.g., SonicWall, Fortinet, Cisco), and VPNs.
  • Perform system upgrades, patch management, and backup verification.
  • Assist with onboarding new clients and performing network assessments.
  • Document network configurations and maintain accurate client records.
  • Collaborate with the team to improve internal processes and technical documentation.
  • Provide occasional client-facing support for high-level issues or project work.


Requirements

Qualifications
  • Ability and openness to work onsite 5x per week
  • Previous MSP experience
  • 5+ years of experience in network/system administration in an MSP or similar environment.
  • Strong knowledge of networking protocols, firewalls, and security best practices.
  • Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Office 365, and virtualization (VMware or Hyper-V).
  • Familiarity with RMM and PSA tools (e.g., ConnectWise, Datto, NinjaOne).
  • Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, Network+, MCSA) are a plus.
