Senior Automation Engineer

Job Title: Senior Automation Engineer
Location: Onsite in Salt Lake City, UT
Duration: 12+ Month Contract (with potential to extend)

What You ll Do:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Automation Engineer to join a dynamic QA team for a growing client in Salt Lake City. This role will involve close collaboration with development, product, and business teams to drive automation efforts and ensure high-quality releases. The ideal candidate brings a deep understanding of Java, Selenium, and test automation frameworks and can both write new code and develop tools to streamline testing processes.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Design and implement test automation frameworks for enterprise-grade applications
  • Partner with Product Managers and business teams to translate requirements into test scenarios
  • Develop comprehensive test plans including functional, end-to-end, and regression testing
  • Drive shift-left testing strategies and contribute to continuous test integration
  • Conduct research on emerging technologies and recommend automation solutions
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and work within an Agile team environment
  • Document code, perform peer reviews, and apply secure coding practices
  • Stay informed on best practices and tools within the QA automation space


What Gets You the Job:


  • 6+ years of experience in QA Automation with strong Java coding skills
  • Deep hands-on experience with Selenium and/or Playwright
  • Solid understanding of API testing (REST/SOAP) and tools like Postman
  • Familiarity with database query writing and validation of backend data
  • Proven ability to create and maintain scalable automation frameworks
  • Experience using CI/CD tools such as Bamboo, Jenkins, GIT, and Artifactory
  • Background working in Agile and/or Waterfall environments
  • Exposure to testing in containerized environments (e.g., Docker)
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Prior experience testing banking or payment systems (ACH, Wires, SWIFT, Transfers) is a plus!
