The Lockheed Martin Artificial Intelligence Center (LAIC) - AI Consulting team is seeking a highly experienced Technical Manager to lead a team of AI/ML engineers in the development and deployment of artificial intelligence and machine learning solutions. The successful candidate will have a strong technical background in AI/ML, excellent leadership and communication skills, and the ability to manage and motivate a team of engineers.

Your Key responsibilities will include leading a team of AI/ML engineers in the development, test and deployment of AI/ML Solutions, Provide technical guidance and oversight to the team, ensuring that projects are completed on time and to a high standard, collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business opportunities and develop associated statistical models, develop and implement best practices for AI/ML engineering, including software development, testing, and deployment, manage the team's workload, prioritize tasks, and allocate resources to ensure efficient and effective project delivery, mentor and develop team members, providing guidance and support to help them grow in their careers, communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders, including project status, technical risks, and recommendations as well as staying up-to-date with the latest developments in AI/ML and identify opportunities to apply new technologies and techniques to business problems.

Basic Qualifications

-Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with at least 10 years of experience in AI/ML engineering
-Proven experience in leading a team of engineers, with a strong track record of delivering projects on time and to a high standard
-Excellent technical skills in AI/ML, including programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++
-Strong knowledge of AI/ML frameworks and tools, including TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn
-Experience with cloud platforms, including AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure
-Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team of engineers
-Strong business acumen, with the ability to understand business needs and develop solutions that meet those needs

Desired skills

-Master's degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
-Experience with Agile development methodologies, including Scrum or Kanban
-Knowledge of DevOps practices, including continuous integration and continuous deployment
-Experience with containerization, including Docker or Kubernetes
-Familiarity with common Python libraries used for developing reinforcement learning applications
-Experience with the design, implementation, and evaluation of models, agents, and software prototypes for real-world AI applications
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex problems and develop creative solutions
- Certified ScrumMaster or Agile PM credential

Ability to work remotely

Full-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work remotely full time at a location other than a Lockheed Martin designated office/job site. Employees may travel to a Lockheed Martin office for periodic meetings.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $150,800 - $265,880. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible.

Premium Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $173,400 - $300,495.
