Knoxville, TN | Sr. Network Engineer | Full-time

We are actively recruiting a Senior Network Engineer for our client in Knoxville, TN. This is a hybrid direct placement opportunity that will require some onsite work in Knoxville. The Senior Networking Engineer plays a critical role in the design, implementation, and management of advanced network infrastructure. This position requires deep technical expertise in LAN, WAN, WLAN, Cloud-Based Solutions, Firewalls, and VPNs. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring network reliability, performance, and security by developing scalable designs, optimizing traffic flow, and proactively addressing potential vulnerabilities. The role also involves cross-functional collaboration with IT teams to align network strategies with business objectives. Must be comfortable mentoring junior staff and providing input on complex projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and manage advanced network infrastructures, including LAN, WAN, WLAN, and Cloud-Based Solutions.
  • Configure and maintain network hardware such as routers, switches, firewalls, and VPN appliances.3. Strong background in network protocols such as, TCP/IP, UDP, BGP, OSPF, SSL, etc.

  • Collaborate with the Cybersecurity team to implement and maintain robust network security measures that safeguard data, software, and hardware assets.
  • Monitor, detect, and respond to network issues, ensuring timely resolution and thorough documentation.
  • Conduct regular performance assessments and capacity planning to support network scalability and future growth.
  • Provide technical responses to network incidents, coordinating with the incident response team to identify root causes, resolve issues, and implement long-term remediation strategies.
  • Continuously monitor and optimize network performance, promoting and implementing ongoing performance improvements to maintain a secure and efficient environment.

Experience:

  • Minimum of eight years' experience in network engineering
  • Demonstrated history of designing and implementing enterprise-level network solutions
