Structured Cabling Technician

Superior Communication Services (SCS) is a leader in the design, installation, and service of low voltage systems. Our work is focused on delivering the latest solutions in voice, data, security, and audio-visual systems in commercial environments.

This is a non-union position.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain effective communication and collaboration with the Director of Operations, Sales team, and technicians regarding project deliverables and planning.
  • Complete and monitor project installations and service to ensure they are completed to industry standards and project specifications.
  • Deliver projects on time, on budget, and to the customer s highest expectations.
  • Manage job productivity, material procurement, labor, quality, and safety.
  • Roughing in, terminating, and testing copper cabling. Fiber termination experience is a plus
  • Installing pathway supports such as j-hooks and ladder trays
  • Servicing/troubleshooting network cabling in a commercial environment
  • Installing closet hardware including backboards, connecting blocks, racks, patch panels and fiber enclosures

Qualifications and Skills

  • Technical skills and knowledge of structured cabling systems
  • Ability to follow blueprints, notes, and specifications.
  • Working knowledge of TIA and BICSI Standards
  • Experience leading a team on a job site.
  • Industry specific manufacturer certifications and BICSI training and/or certifications preferred.
  • Excellent time management, planning and decision-making skills.
  • Enjoys hands-on problem solving in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a professional team with a positive and professional attitude.
  • Must maintain a valid driver s license and reliable transportation.
  • Experience with AV and/or access control a plus.
