Job Title: AWS Senior Architect Engineering
Location: Rockville, MD (Onsite)
Duration/Term: Long Term Contract

Job Summary:

We are seeking a hands-on AWS Senior Architect with a strong engineering mindset and extensive experience in building scalable, resilient, and secure architectures. This role requires expertise in Kubernetes (K8s) and AWS, with a preference for candidates who are certified in both technologies (AWS Solutions Architect Professional, CKA/CKS for Kubernetes). The ideal candidate will design, implement, and troubleshoot solutions; mentor engineers; and contribute directly to critical cloud projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and troubleshoot AWS-based architectures.
• Lead cloud-native system development, ensuring scalability and security.
• Provide technical leadership on critical cloud transformation projects.
• Mentor and guide engineering teams in AWS best practices and DevOps methodologies.
• Optimize CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and CodePipeline.
• Manage Kubernetes deployments, particularly EKS-based solutions.
• Develop infrastructure automation using Terraform and Python scripting.
• Integrate AI/ML platforms like Dataiku and Databricks into cloud ecosystems.
• Architect and enhance ETL solutions using tools like Matillion.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise data platforms, governance, and security frameworks.
• Support AWS implementations in regulated industries such as healthcare or finance.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• 8+ years of experience in cloud architecture and engineering.
• Proven expertise in AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, IAM, VPC).
• Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes (EKS preferred).
• Advanced Python scripting and Terraform proficiency.
• Solid knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, CodePipeline).
• Experience with AI/ML platforms (Dataiku, Databricks).
• Strong understanding of ETL concepts and tools (Matillion).
• Demonstrated success in delivering complex projects and cloud transformations.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Strong analytical thinking and ability to troubleshoot complex systems.

Preferred Certifications:

• Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS) (K8s)
• AWS Solutions Architect Professional (AWS).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in regulated industries (healthcare, finance).
• Familiarity with enterprise data governance, security compliance frameworks.
