Software Application Support Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Maryland Heights, MO that is immediately seeking a motivated and eager-to-learn Software Application Support Engineer to join our team supporting mission-critical systems in a dynamic IT environment. This entry-level role is ideal for entry level candidates or professionals early in their careers who are looking to build a strong foundation in infrastructure, monitoring, and application support within a high-availability environment.

Responsibilities:
* Assist in the monitoring, maintenance, and support of internal infrastructure platforms
* Participate in deployment and release activities across multiple environments
* Collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to troubleshoot application issues
* Contribute to 24x7 support operations for high-criticality applications (on-call rotation may apply)
* Learn and apply DevOps practices, monitoring tools, and cloud-based infrastructure concepts
* Help develop and maintain documentation related to system processes and procedures
* Analyze telemetry data and support incident response efforts using monitoring and alerting tools

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
* Strong interest in infrastructure, DevOps, and application support roles
* Willingness to work in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment
* Good communication skills and an eagerness to learn and grow technically

Preferred Skills (not required, but beneficial for success in this role):
* Exposure to internal cloud environments (e.g., Kubernetes, VMware)
* Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools such as Splunk or AppDynamics
* Basic understanding of Java development and application architecture
* Prior experience (including internships) with 24x7 operational support
* Hands-on with application deployment and release management
* Working knowledge of databases such as SQL, MongoDB, Redis, or similar SQL/NoSQL technologies

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
