Scope of Work

The Senior Designer will:

  • Lead design efforts for key benefactor-facing events and materials.
  • Translate strategy into compelling visual solutions that inspire engagement and generosity.
  • Ensure continuity, quality, and creative excellence in all aspects of event and proposal design.

Hard Requirements for Senior Graphic Designer (for Event Support & Project Transition Planning)

  1. Advanced Design Expertise
  • Proven ability to lead and execute complex, high-level creative across multiple formats and touchpoints.
  • Strong visual storytelling skills with the ability to translate abstract ideas into compelling visuals that align with brand identity.
  • Mastery of industry-standard tools (Adobe Creative Suite InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop; After Effects for motion graphics; PowerPoint for program decks and visual presentations).
  1. Expertise in Benefactor Proposal Design
  • Demonstrated experience designing high-impact, tailored proposals and pitch materials for philanthropic audiences.
  • Ability to create elevated, persuasive visual narratives that support major gift cultivation and stewardship.
  • Familiarity with donor-centric messaging and collaborative work with fundraising and strategy partners.
  1. Leadership & Creative Direction
  • Ability to lead creative for Signature, High Net-Worth (HNW), and Focus events with confidence and ownership.
  • Partner with the Art Director to establish and uphold the visual direction across key event types.
  • Provide creative guidance and mentorship to junior team members and production collaborators.
  1. Event-Specific Design Execution
  • Develop mood boards, event branding, and comprehensive visual experiences (arrival, signage, staging, print materials, gifts).
  • Execute polished PowerPoint presentations and motion graphics for event programs and donor engagement.
  • Collaborate with internal partners and external vendors to deliver exceptional outcomes on tight timelines.
  1. Production Oversight
  • Prepare press-ready files and oversee quality assurance for printed and digital materials.
  • Coordinate with vendors on production specs, proofing, delivery timelines, and quality standards.
  • Leverage templated systems when appropriate while elevating visuals where needed.
  1. Project Management & Cross-functional Collaboration
  • Manage multiple concurrent event projects while maintaining high standards and meeting deadlines.
  • Collaborate closely with event producers, strategists, vendors, and other creative team members.
  • Proactively problem-solve and adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Additional Required Competencies

  • Exceptional attention to detail in layout, typography, hierarchy, and brand alignment.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey design rationale and receive feedback constructively.
  • Experience in healthcare, nonprofit, or donor engagement spaces is highly desirable.
  • Ability to interpret and apply institutional brand guidelines with creativity and precision.
