The base compensation range varies across locations.For any eligible US locations, unless otherwise noted, the base compensation range for this role is $88,200 - $163,800.This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance.Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs.

As a Senior DevOps Engineer on our CoCounsel for Government team, you'll play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the infrastructure and deployment practices that power our cutting-edge solutions for government clients.
About the Role
In this opportunity as Senior DevOps Engineer, you will:
- Define and maintain scalable system architectures leveraging AWS (preferred) or any major cloud provider (Google Cloud Platform/Azure) (with an emphasis on CloudFormation or equivalent Infrastructure as a Code technology), container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes (EKS/GKE/AKS), serverless (Lambda, ECS, App service, cloud run), compute (EC2, virtual machines) etc.)
- Architect and maintain container orchestration solutions (Docker, Kubernetes/EKS, ECS), optimizing for efficient deployment and resource utilization.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts and tooling in Python, with a focus on production-grade code, performance, and maintainability. Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible is a plus.
- Integrate security best practices and government compliance standards (e.g., FedRAMP, FIPS) throughout the DevOps lifecycle, working closely with InfoSec teams to proactively address vulnerabilities and maintain hardened, compliant systems.
- Optimize CI/CD pipelines and automation workflows, leveraging tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or AWS CodePipeline to drive developer productivity and minimize downtime.
- Implement and manage observability and monitoring solutions, including Application Performance Monitoring (APM) and logging tools (e.g., Datadog, CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana) for system reliability and rapid incident response.
- Mentor junior engineers on DevOps methodologies, conducting code reviews, and offering technical guidance to foster team growth and best practices.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, software engineers, and security professionals, communicating effectively about infrastructure, deployment strategies, and operational requirements.
About You
You're a fit for the role of Senior DevOps Engineer if your background includes:
- 4+ years in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or a related field, with a strong focus on AWS and container-based architectures.
- Proven track record designing, building, and supporting production environments with a high degree of automation, reliability, and scalability.
- Deep understanding of AWS (preferred) or any major cloud provider (Google Cloud Platform/Azure) (with an emphasis on CloudFormation or equivalent Infrastructure as a Code technology), container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes (EKS/GKE/AKS), serverless (Lambda, ECS, App service, cloud run), compute (EC2, virtual machines) etc.)
- Advanced scripting and automation skills in Python, including building and maintaining infrastructure tooling or backend services.
- Strong knowledge of cloud and application security, with practical experience implementing encryption, identity and access management, and network security controls in compliance with government regulations.
- Experience with modern cloud design patterns, including microservices, immutable infrastructure, blue/green and canary deployments, and data management for scale and resiliency.
- Hands-on experience with APM and observability tools, such as Datadog, CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, and Kibana, to ensure system reliability and performance.
- Comfortable with a high level of autonomy and proactive decision-making, thriving in a distributed, remote-first team environment.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, capable of working effectively across distributed, cross-functional teams and translating complex technical concepts for diverse stakeholder
