Our team in Marlborough, MA has been actively accelerating humanity's expansion into space for multiple decades. During that time, our innovative team has been designing and manufacturing mission-critical, high reliability optical sensors for satellites providing guidance, navigation, situational awareness, and control capabilities.

Summary

Redwire Space Components, LLC has a current opportunity for a Contractor - Automation Test Engineer (willing to consider all levels), for a period of up to 6 months, located at our facility in Marlborough, MA. This role involves software development and product system verification. You will be collaborating with developers and product management to create and implement system test automation to verify the functionality of our RF payload, power control unit acceptance testing and qualification. This role will be responsible for developing the necessary test automation, integrating automated test processes into the overall test flow, and verifying and validating the automation. Additionally, this role will require automating manufacturing test operations, verifying results, generating reports, and managing data storage.

Responsibilities

  • Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents, and provide feedback focused on testability or other test-related issues.
  • Generate an overall test strategy and plan to efficiently implement necessary test automation.
  • Design test equipment to test flight hardware.
  • Develop test automation software to drive efficiency and repeatability of system testing.
  • Provide resource estimates and track work for testing duration and related expenses to execute the verification process. Assess performance against estimates.
  • Specify necessary commercial or custom test solutions. Work with program management to procure and deploy third party equipment.
  • Develop test cases and associated test procedures to ensure adequate test coverage.
  • Execute test procedures and validate results.
  • Assist in resolving product-related inquiries.
  • Manage all necessary deadlines and deliverables.

Ideal Experience

  • BS/MS Degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 5 or more years of experience developing test solutions, preferably for embedded and electromechanical hardware systems.
  • Experience or understanding of basic circuit design, including an ability to understand schematics, debug circuits, and validate measurements with benchtop test equipment.
  • Experience developing test software, tools, and automation in Python on Windows or Linux platforms.
  • Experience applying QA/test methodologies and tools; including traceability of requirements to test cases.
  • Working knowledge of GIT VCS.

Desired Skills

  • Solid understanding of Product Realization Process and System Development Life Cycle.
  • Agile/Scrum experience.
  • Experience with the Atlassian tool suite: Jira & Confluence
  • Experience developing real time solutions for hardware test.
  • Self-driven, capable of taking ownership of complex problems and working with a team to drive optimal solutions.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills that enable effective collaboration, status reporting, and documenting analysis and results.

Pay Range

$50 - $80/hr.
