Role Overview:

As an Index Platform Developer, you will play a key role in transforming our platform from traditional on-premises monolithic based applications to a modern, cloud-native architecture. This includes building serverless Python-based applications, developing API-driven workloads, and deploying scalable solutions in AWS. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to modernize Nasdaq's core index services and deliver high-impact, resilient systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and implement scalable backend services using Python in AWS.

Develop and integrate RESTful APIs using serverless technologies to enable secure and efficient data exchange.

Collaborate with product managers, QA engineers, and other developers to migrate legacy systems to cloud-native solutions.

Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Maintain documentation for system architecture, interfaces, and workflows.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.

4+ years of experience in software development, preferably in financial services or enterprise platforms.

Hands-on experience with Python and AWS serverless computing.

Experience developing Python applications and APIs.

Able to write queries against Relational databases as well as No-SQL databases.

Familiarity Infrastructure as code (Terraform, Cloud Formation) for cloud deployment best practices.

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with metadata-driven development and contract-first API design.

Knowledge of capital markets or listing operations.

Experience working in CI/CD pipeline automated development environments and DevOps practices.

Proficiency in other programming languages such as C#, Java

Experience developing websites.
