Description: Our client is currently seeking a Electrophysics Engr/Scien 3

Electromagnetic Effects Engineer

Locations: Titusville, FL | Oklahoma City, OK | San Antonio, TX (Fully Onsite)

Duration: 12+ Months

Security Clearance: Must be eligible to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required)

Position Overview

This role supports advanced defense platforms by developing and validating Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) requirements and architectures. The engineer will ensure electromagnetic compatibility and system integrity across complex aerospace platforms.

E3 domains include: Electromagnetic Interference (EMI), Lightning, High Intensity Radiated Fields (HIRF), Precipitation Static, and Nuclear Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP).

Responsibilities
  • Conduct trade studies, modeling, and simulations to optimize E3 performance
  • Ensure electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of electronics, wiring, and structural components
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and suppliers to ensure system-level E3 compliance
  • Support project management with work statements, budgets, schedules, and reviews

Additional responsibilities may include:
  • Develop and implement test automation for aircraft modifications
  • Analyze EMI/EMC data and apply engineering solutions
  • Review EMI qualification testing procedures and reports
  • Present findings in internal and external review boards
  • Convert engineering data into clear tables and graphs for reporting

Basic Qualifications
  • Must possess a Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, engineering physics or physics.
  • Must be familiar with the Electromagnetic concepts (such as RF isolation, shielding, grounding, and filtering)
  • Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time as required
  • 5 or more years' related work experience (Career Level)

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in aerospace or defense industries
  • Familiarity with MIL-STD-461/464 and DO-160 standards
  • Experience with aircraft-level E3 testing and compliance
  • Knowledge of electrical bonding best practices
  • Background in RF systems or E3 analytical software tools

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree with 9+ years of experience
  • Master's degree with 7+ years of experience
  • PhD with 4+ years of experience Degrees must be in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry from an accredited institution.
