Azure IoT Architect

The role is primarily remote. However, the consultant must be available to travel to the Houston, TX client site whenever required. Travel expenses are paid for by the client.

Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Azure Solution Architect with strong experience in designing and implementing cloud-native solutions across enterprise environments. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in Azure services, architecture frameworks, and modern development practices to lead digital transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design scalable, secure, and resilient cloud architectures using Azure services.
  • Lead application rearchitecting efforts and migration planning for legacy systems.
  • Develop architectural diagrams, viewpoints, and solution frameworks aligned with business goals.
  • Conduct architecture assessments, tradeoff analyses, and cost-benefit evaluations.
  • Drive compliance evaluation, capacity planning, and total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define non-functional requirements (NFRs) and ensure solution alignment.
  • Provide technical leadership across estimation, transformation, and solutioning activities.

Required Skills

  • Expertise in architecture principles, styles (SOA, microservices), and accelerators.
  • Proficiency in tools and methods: Architecture Tradeoff Analysis, Cost Benefit Analysis, Migration Planning.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Strong background in data integration, warehousing, and big data technologies.
  • Familiarity with IoT solutions and edge computing.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Azure certifications (e.g., Azure IoT Developer, Azure Solutions Architect).
  • Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks.
  • Experience in manufacturing, energy, utilities, or smart infrastructure domains.

LoRaWAN Solution Architect

Remote. However, the consultant must be available to travel to the Houston, TX client site whenever required (estimated frequency: once every two months. Travel expenses are paid for by the client.

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Solution Architect with deep expertise in Operational Technology (OT), Edge Gateway architectures, LoRaWAN, Azure OT PaaS, and sensor-driven time series data. This role is pivotal in designing scalable, secure, and intelligent edge-to-cloud solutions that integrate industrial systems with modern cloud platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and deliver end-to-end OT solutions integrating edge gateways, sensors, and cloud platforms.
  • Design and implement LoRaWAN-based sensor networks for industrial telemetry and control.
  • Lead development of Azure-based OT PaaS solutions (IoT Hub, Time Series Insights, Digital Twins, Data Explorer).
  • Define data models and ingestion pipelines for time series data from diverse sensor ecosystems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration between OT systems and enterprise IT/cloud environments.
  • Establish security and compliance frameworks for edge and OT deployments.
  • Provide technical leadership in client engagements, workshops, and solution reviews.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in OT systems architecture and industrial automation.
  • Hands-on expertise with Edge Gateways (e.g., Azure IoT Edge, Cisco, Siemens).
  • Strong understanding of LoRaWAN protocols and deployment strategies.
  • Deep knowledge of Azure OT services including IoT Hub, Time Series Insights, and Digital Twins.
  • Experience with time series databases and sensor data analytics.
  • Familiarity with industrial protocols such as Modbus, OPC UA, and MQTT.
