ASSYST is seeking a skilled ETL Engineer/Analyst to support our client in Austin, Texas.
Location: Austin, Texas
Job Type: Contract (W2/C2C or 1099)
Position: Hybrid - Onsite
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and configure infrastructure for the data integration hub in alignment with TIERS objectives.
- Design, develop, and implement ETL processes using Agile SDLC practices, including:
- Performance metric validation
- User Story and Task creation
- Data acquisition automation
- SQL script development
- Integration, load, and stress testing
- Internal/external deployment and publication
- Provide operations support and continuous enhancement of the data integration hub.
- Acquire data from diverse sources (Oracle, SQL Server, Snowflake, Excel, Access, PDF) and load into dimensional models.
- Design and implement Informatica workflows and mappings to automate transformation logic.
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries, views, and materialized views in Oracle.
- Develop automated testing and validation processes using Python and Informatica tools.
- Collaborate closely with architects and data engineers on data design and acquisition strategies.
- Enhance and support a Java-based web portal that delivers Tableau dashboards to users with varied access roles.
- Create mockups and participate in customer validation sessions for dashboard interfaces and features.
- Participate in all Agile ceremonies (planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, etc.).
- Develop and maintain technical documentation including specifications, diagrams, and data models.
- Interpret changing business requirements and recommend appropriate system enhancements.
- Support testing and quality assurance including defect tracking and resolution.
Required Qualifications
- ETL & Integration Expertise: 8+ years of experience with Informatica (IICS, IDMC, or PowerCenter) and multi-source data integration from platforms like Snowflake, Oracle, SQL Server, Excel, Access, and PDF.
- Advanced SQL & Data Analysis: Extensive experience in SQL development and performance management/data warehousing projects, with strong skills in query optimization.
- Scripting & Automation: Proficiency in Python for data validation, automation, and test script development.
- Technical Documentation & Tools: Skilled in creating technical documentation and using modeling tools (Visio, Erwin) and MS Office Suite.
- QA & Risk Management: Strong background in defect tracking, test planning, and risk identification throughout the development lifecycle.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently or in a team, handle sensitive data, and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Preferred Skills
- Test Automation Expertise: Proven experience enhancing automation frameworks, building robust regression and functional test suites, and improving test coverage ideally with AI-driven enhancements.
- AI and Scalable Testing: Hands-on experience working with AI platforms or validating AI-integrated products, along with familiarity in testing infrastructure and observability at scale.
- Innovation in Quality Engineering: Demonstrated ability to drive innovation in software quality, test automation practices, and continuous improvement of testing processes.
