This position is located in Atlanta, GA. Depending on the assigned team, you may support a variety of IT projects in a Business Analyst, Developer, Systems Engineer, or Data Analytic/BI type role which may include gathering requirements for development, design and testing of decision support systems or participation in the development, maintenance, enhancement and support of our software applications or infrastructure environments. Data analytics is used to create performance dashboards and service level agreements with various products. Interns working in Developer roles are given an opportunity to utilize various methods and technologies such as Java/JEE, JSON, Spring, Angular, Agile/DevOps delivery, API, JavaScript, C++ on Linux, Python, REST, XML, web services, HTML, Oracle and expanding mobile technologies. Some roles / responsibilities will be non-technical.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

Be able to commit to working the entire 13 week summer internship program May 11 - August 7, 2026 (13 weeks)

Be willing to work full-time, 40 hours per week from the Atlanta office. Most teams work a partially onsite / partially remote (hybrid) work schedule with management approval.

Have a 2.5 GPA or higher and have completed at least 2 years in a college program, with degree emphasis in Computer Science, Software Development, Systems/Industrial/Electrical Engineering, Management Information Systems, Data Science, Data Analytics/Operations Research, Cyber Security, Business Management, or a related field

Ideal candidates have strong analytical, leadership, written and verbal communication skills

Have an interest in solving complex problems and investing the time and energy to overcome roadblocks and learn from mistakes

Possess some awareness of Agile methodologies, Software Dev Lifecycle, cloud computing, as well as PC hardware components and/or maintenance

Be able to conduct yourself in a mature manner and be comfortable working in a business casual work attire environment

Be interested in working for Delta Air Lines after graduation if presented with a full time job offer opportunity

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

Ability to digest large amounts of data and information and succinctly explain what can be learned from the data and how it can support decision making

Desire to learn leadership techniques and best practices in problem solving and conflict resolution to enable innovation and progress on difficult to solve challenges of our customers

Have a passion for working on cloud computing and technologies such as Mobile apps, Enterprise Web apps, APIs, Messaging, Databases, Big Data, or Artificial Intelligence
