Job Details

Job Title: IST ERP Project Manager

Location: NEWARK, NJ HYBRID (2-3 days a week)
Type: Contract


Essential Functions:

  • Coordinate all project activities including but not limited to project planning and initiation, requirements gathering, design and configuration, documentation, testing, training, deployment and post implementation support.
  • Serve as a member of the project management team, collaborate with other project managers including but not limited to HR and Finance to ensure coordination of efforts across the project.
  • Coordinate project activities across multiple departments and stakeholders, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities.
  • Work closely with HR, finance, faculty, advisors, academic departments and other administrative offices to identify and prioritize project requirements that meet the needs of the institution.
  • Ensure that IST project team members understand the goals and objectives of the project.
  • Provide guidance and support to IST project team members as needed.
  • Communicate project progress to relevant stakeholders.
  • Create and maintain a detailed IST project plan and budget for the ERP project.
  • Track, maintain and escalate issues and risks.
  • Track and manage decisions and scope changes.
  • Ensure that the appropriate stakeholders are engaged in the project.
  • Ensure that change management is at the forefront of all planning and execution.
  • Ensure that each rollout is appropriately tested and deployed.
  • Ensure that the solution and processes are well-documented.
  • Shepherd the data cleanup, conversion and process redesign efforts.
  • Ensure that the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of stakeholders while adhering to institutional regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Assess impact of decisions on other systems, processes and capabilities supported by IST and ensure alignment.
  • Perform other functions, as required by the University.

Prerequisite Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of implementation and project management experience
  • Experience with at least two full Workday implementations from planning through post-deployment
  • Experience at a higher education institution is preferred
  • Experience with IT methodologies, frameworks, operations and processes
  • At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position
