Role Overview:

As a senior member of the engineering team, you will play a key role in supporting design, build, and modification projects for specialized aircraft programs. This position focuses on resolving structural and system installation challenges, leading engineering efforts from investigation through implementation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and resolve structural or installation design issues arising during build or modification activities.

  • Develop and release temporary engineering solutions to support production schedules.

  • Review and disposition non-conforming hardware, providing rework instructions and documentation (MRB support).

  • Conduct detailed investigations of aircraft designs and coordinate with cross-functional teams, including Manufacturing, Quality, and other Engineering groups.

  • Generate and manage engineering change requests for flight test or modification programs.

  • Create technical documentation to define structural repair, modification, or installation requirements.

  • Design and release structural and systems integration packages for special mission or custom aircraft configurations.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related Engineering discipline from an accredited institution.

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience in aircraft design, manufacturing, or modifications.

  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency required under ITAR regulations.

  • Proven background in Special Missions, Aftermarket, or aircraft modification programs.

  • Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring engineering teams.

  • Minimum of 15,000 hours using CATIA V5.

  • Strong proficiency in CATIA V5 Workbenches including Assembly Design, Part Design (Boolean Operations), Aerospace Sheetmetal, and Tubing Design.

  • Familiarity with Kinematics and Electrical Harness Routing workbenches preferred.

  • Experience with Siemens NX and Teamcenter PLM systems a plus.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interface effectively across departments.

  • Self-directed, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Prior aircraft manufacturing or modification experience highly desirable.

Additional Details:
  • ITAR compliance required ().

  • Location: Wichita, KS Onsite for approximately the first 6 months, with potential for hybrid flexibility thereafter depending on project needs.

  • Schedule: Standard workweek with occasional overtime (6 10 hours per week).

  • Travel: Minimal business travel may be required.
