Job Details
Job Brief:
The main objective of a build and design engineer is to design and configure Ethernet, IP, VPN, and MPLS circuits that rely on the current network equipment in accordance with customer requirements. You will collaborate with other IT specialists and vendors to meet customer demands and put solutions in place that guarantee circuits are precisely planned and constructed. Diagnose design problems, update the design, and follow industry trends to suggest modifications are also part of your responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Network Design and Implementation: Design, implement, and manage network infrastructure, focusing on routing and switching technologies
- Actively track, diagnose, debug, and fix issues with a variety of Ethernet and optical services as well as a NA MPLS infrastructure in compliance with product SLAs up to third level support.
- An advantage is having an excellent understanding of or expertise with Ethernet-based and optical networks.
- Routing Protocols: Configure and troubleshoot dynamic routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, and EIGRP
- Designing Site to Site IPVPN, DIA, HSIP, VPLS(E-line, E-lan), Ethisphere Circuits and NNI design with On-net and Off-Net requirement
- All bandwidths ranging from DS1, DS3, OCn, FE, GE to High Speed 10G circuits are designed
- Provide deliverables of various Telecomm & Data products as defined in the SLA and support End to End delivery as per the Service Delivery Process
- Following shortest path and making design simple makes latency free circuit for Customer.
- Assign IP port interfaces for DIA, IPVPN, EVPL and VPLS circuits.
- Switching Technologies: Configure and manage Layer 2 and Layer 3 switches
- Implement VLANs, spanning-tree protocols, and port security
- Performance Monitoring: Utilize network monitoring tools to assess the performance and health of the network
- Analyze trends and implement improvements for optimal performance
- Troubleshooting: Investigate and resolve network-related issues, including connectivity problems and performance bottlenecks
- Collaborate with other teams for complex issue resolution
- Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for network configurations, and procedures
- Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for network management
- Provide technical support and guidance to other IT teams as needed
Requirements and Skills:
- Knowledge of networking protocols and technology.
- Deep understanding of network protocols: TCP/IP, MPLS, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VPNs
- Experience Routers, switches, IP Transmission/ Transport Design
- Knowledge of network hardware (routers, switches, and firewalls) and software.
- Relevant certifications (for example, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), CompTIA Network+). Juniper Networks Certified Internet Associate (JNCIA), Juniper Networks Certified Internet Professional (JNCIP)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
