IT Support Technician

Position Overview

The IT Support Technician plays a key role in providing centralized support for computing devices, software, and end-user services. This position serves as a single point of contact for telephone, deskside, and walk-in support. Responsibilities include troubleshooting hardware and software issues, assisting with service requests, and ensuring timely resolution of technical problems. The role also involves computer imaging, inventory management, equipment ordering and installation, and providing technical support to designated partnership areas. Strong communication and customer service skills are essential to deliver high-quality support and meet the needs of end users.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide centralized support for desktops, laptops, and standard applications.
  • Serve as the primary contact for phone, deskside, and walk-in technical support requests.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and telephone issues.
  • Perform computer imaging, configuration, and deployment of new devices.
  • Manage inventory of IT equipment and coordinate ordering and installation.
  • Document and process service requests in a structured system.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure consistent and reliable support.
  • Deliver training and guidance to end users on computing and communication tools.
  • Maintain compliance with organizational IT policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong customer service and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Solid knowledge of computer operating systems and productivity applications.
  • Understanding of computer networks and telephone services.
  • Ability to identify, diagnose, and resolve technical issues effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a service desk or IT support role.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA, other technical credentials).
  • Experience supporting both hardware and software in enterprise environments.

This is a Contract position based out of South Bend, IN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $27.00/hr.
